Beschreibungen

Agronomy of Tropical Crops is a compilation of the production aspects of major crops in the tropics and sub-tropics. The book is written in a simple and straight-forward style for easy comprehension by the target groups, namely, students at secondary and tertiary levels, as well as farming practitioners, especially in the developing world, who need basic texts for guidance. Major aspects of production covered in the book include crop origin, botany, field culture, diseases and use. A glossary of common Soil and Crop Science terms is included for reference by readers. Although it provides a general introductory overview of scientific principles underlying the production of tropical crops, it cannot be a substitute for specialist books and manuals on several aspects of each individual crop. However, students of Agriculture, Horticulture and Food Science, as well as farming practitioners would find a useful companion in Agronomy of Tropical Crops.
