Beschreibungen

This book highlights the advantages of the vector-phase method in underwater acoustic measurements and presents results of theoretical and experimental studies of the deep open ocean and shallow sea based on vector-phase representations. Based on the physical phenomena discovered and compensation of counter streams of energy and vortices of the acoustic intensity vector, processes of transmitting acoustic energy of a tonal signal in the real ocean are described. The book also discusses the development of advanced detection tools based on vector-phase sonar. This book provides useful content for professionals and researchers working in various fields of applied underwater acoustics.

Vector representation of the acoustic field.- Theory and technique of vector-phase underwater acoustic measurements.- Phenomenon of compensation of intensities of reciprocal energy fluxes.- Vortices of acoustic intensity vector in the shallow water waveguide.- Observing weak signal in diffuse, partially coherent and coherent acoustic noise.- Vector-phase experimental technique, Expeditions, Conferences.
Professor Vladimir A. Shchurov received a Ph.D. degree in physics from the Moscow State University in 1969 and then a degree of Doctor of Science from the Pacific Oceanological Institute of the Russian Academy of Science. He has worked in the field of ocean acoustics for over 40 years and authored more the 150 research articles in Russian and international journals.
