زكي مبارك، أديب وشاعر وناقد وصحفي مصري، ومن أبرز المثقفين في مصر خلال النصف الأول من القرن العشرين. ولد في الخامس من أغسطس 1892 في قرية سنتريس بمحافظة المنوفية. نشأ في أسرة ميسورة وبدأ تعليمه في الكُتَّاب حيث حفظ القرآن الكريم في سن مبكرة. تلقى تعليمه الأكاديمي في الجامع الأزهر وحصل على شهادة الأهلية عام 1916، ثم التحق بكلية الآداب بالجامعة المصرية وتخرج منها عام 1921. واصل دراسته العليا، حيث حصل على درجة الدكتوراه في الأدب من الجامعة نفسها عام 1924، وبعد ذلك سافر إلى باريس للدراسة في مدرسة اللغات الشرقية وحصل على دبلوم الدراسات العليا عام 1931 والدكتوراه في الآداب من جامعة السوربون عام 1937. تلقى تعليمه على يدي الشيخ المرصفي وطه حسين، وكان معروفًا بنقده الحاد والجريء. تميز بمساهماته في الشعر والخطابة، وكان نشطًا في ثورة 1919، حيث استخدم مواهبه لإلهاب الجماهير. على الرغم من تفوقه الأدبي، لم ينل زكي مبارك المناصب العليا بسبب مواقفه المستقلة والجريئة وخلافاته مع أقطاب الأدب مثل طه حسين والعقاد. في أواخر حياته، سافر إلى العراق حيث كرم بوسام الرافدين عام 1947. توفي في عام 1952 ودُفِن في مسقط رأسه. ترك إرثًا أدبيًا يضم أكثر من 45 مؤلفًا، بما في ذلك مؤلفات باللغة الفرنسية.
